Social Innovation Institute (SII further on) is a public not-for-profit organisation established in 2006. The Institute unites a group of young and excellence-driven researchers and scientists working in policy research, applied scientific and interdisciplinary researches as well as various related project activities in Lithuania. Currently the Institute unites 17 researchers and young scientists. Although SII is a young organisation, it employs experts with over 15 years of experience in various fields of scientific research.

SII is striving to create, promote and implement social innovations, to research and propose new responses and solutions to the contemporary social and economic challenges.

The Institute conducts scientific researches, develops and implements projects, carry-out studies and expert evaluations, provides advice and recommendations for civil servants involved in policy development processes as well as to NGOs and businesses.
